Module 1: The Basics of Budgeting We begin by defining why budgeting matters—not as a restriction, but as a tool for empowerment. You will learn to calculate your "net" income (after taxes and deductions) to ensure your budget is realistic.
Module 2: Tracking Your Financial LifeYou cannot manage what you do not measure. In this module, you will learn to track expenses for at least one month, categorizing them into "Fixed Expenses" (like rent) and "Variable Expenses" (like groceries or entertainment).
Module 3: The 50/30/20 FrameworkWe utilize the 50/30/20 rule as a guideline to divide your income:
Module 4: Refining Your Habits Learn how to identify and cut unnecessary expenses, such as unused subscriptions or excessive takeout. We will also cover the importance of building an emergency fund—even if you start by saving just $5 a week.
Module 5: Consistency & Growth: Budgeting is a habit, not a one-time event. Learn how to adjust your budget as your life changes and stay consistent even if you occasionally overspend. You will conclude the course by completing a personal commitment worksheet to solidify your next steps.
